Clot on Warfarin Scared

Hi - I have a DVT in my subclavian vein. It was removed mechanically last year but it has come back even though I am on warfarin for the rest of my life. My vein is damaged and they put a stent in there but that is now fractured and the vein is completely occluded with a blood clot. Is it dangerous to live with this? Will the clot probably continue to grow? I am 44. Will this blocked vein eventually cause damage to my arm? I'm scared and worried about this. Thanks everyone and sorry for all of us we have to worry about these darn things. :-) 15351

Hi Eveewonder, I can't really answer your questions since I am still quite new to DVT's and all the problems they bring. Have you been tested for any genetic disorders that caused you to clot in the first place especially getting a second one. Subclavian closts are very rare to begin with, mine was the first my Dr had ever seen. I wish you luck in finding your answers! Louise 15355

Hi Louise- An old clavicle (30+ years) fracture caused damage to the subclavian vein and the clot. No genetic disorder. It reclots I guess because of the damaged vein and stent. Seems even on warfarin I will have a clot. Ugggg 15356
