genetic test results? (lab results)

General request, since I haven't seen this specifically... Those of you who were diagnosed with a clotting disorder, or CLEARED of a clotting disorder after testing, would anyone be willing to share what their test results were- including what they were told was the "standard range" or whatever if it was included in lab reports? I realize I will have to wait for all my results, but one of the APS ones came back (don't know what it means, can't find the #s info online). I have online access to the results, but won't see my doc again for another 3-4 weeks. People willing to share for the benefit of myself and others who come to the forum after me? I'll post mine when I get them. 15302

Pamela this is what I would like to know also. My hematlogist said I tested borderline for aps, but I'd like to know the range. My first hematologist said I had no clotting factors although I was on coumadin for all my tests, apparently if the figures are low enough , they can tell if you're negative for protein s , c & thrombophyllia ??. I was negative for factor v Leiden 15303

The only genetic test I flunked was Protein S after two separate tests two weeks apart. The ranges were on the lab report sheets copies given to me by my Hematologist. For accuracy I was not taking Warfarin for the testing, discontinued for 7 weeks and I had no blood clot problem. Results made me a lifer, 5mg daily keeps my INR at 1.7. 15308

Each test kits has different values (ranges) for positive/negative. It depends on which test kit was used for each. What may be negative on one may be slightly elevated on another. 15311

Hey Tom, My Protein S was 24 and 26 both times, range 60-140, sent out to Quest Diagnostics. Should I have it done again with a different lab doing the testing? Seems strange that my Mother took Warfarin about 4 years and after stopping the Warfarin she never had another blood clot. She wore her support hose daily and lived another 21 years without a blood clot. 15317

Are these tests just blood tests? I'm tempted to ask my Dr about getting them done. 15339

I got the all clear on Factor V and 20210, but all 3 parts to the APS test were out of the normal range, so I will be tested again for that in 5 or 6 months. Protein C and S, I was told, can't be done until I'm off the warfarin, and my doc asked for 6 more months (total of a year). 15401
