Hi all- this is my first time here, and im hoping maybe someone can help me!

Im 21 female. I had my baby 5 months ago! a beautiful baby boy. Well While I was pregnant I read a story about a woman dieing after childbirth due to a blood clot after a c-section. Well ever since then Ive been plagued with a fear of getting a blood clot and dieing, that was like 14 months ago and im still fearing this.

I have no family history, i am not on birth control ( use condoms) I dont sit around all day, a decent weight, and I exercise.

Ive had my leg checked out a million times, had blood tests and ultra sounds, and everything has been fine.

Today my left leg hurts down the left side, and my mind automatically jumps to blood clot.

can anyone PLEASE help?? nothing seems to help me get over this fear

,I can fully appreciate your feeings of anxiety and fears. We all experience them as each pain, ache, swelling etc leads us to think its another DVT/PE !

All of us here had felt like this and many of us here also still feel like this, I think its human nature and by been here and been positive and each of us here been supportive , offering advice and tips and sharing our experiences we can learn and get through what ever life can throw at us.

Read through the forum J Mommy, There are many many different topics and many answers to questioned we have all asked. You will find that you are not alone. Let us here know how your getting on and keep us posted. All the very best and keep smiling.

Hi
I'm no Dr but I'm pretty sure that if you did have a blood clot, all the tests you've
had done, it would have been picked up.

It's a stressful time after having a baby & your mind will go into overdrive
imagining all kinds of scenarios , mine did. Anxiety can cause all sorts of
physical problems, it's really a case of mind over matter.
Good luck x

So happy to hear your a new mom, congratulations!

You know, not every pain in your leg is a serious issue.

There are many changes to a womens body before, during and after delivering a baby. Many women experience back and leg problems from the extra weight they carry and just from the way the baby is positioned in your body and often these pains do not go away once the baby is born.

Have you to tried physiotherapy to see if your leg pain could be due to pinched sciatic nerve? Physiotherapist will know right way if its a nerve or muscle issue. Sciatica is a very, very common leg and back problem that a lot or women get from pregnancy, it can happen to anyone male or female.

At least have a physiotherapist have a look at you, you may find that all your worries are for nothing.

Take care,

Generally, the issue (when you're not talking BC or a clotting disorder) is the first 6
weeks after. You're way past that. Time to entertain other possibilities.

You'll be fine. I has severe anxiety and depression when I had my clot. I
was going to die, or suffer even more illness - I just knew it! After a
million tests they never found the cause. I stopped taking the blood
thinners after 6 months and threw the stockings in the garbage a week
later. That was 12 years ago. Never had another clot or other illness
since. Put it behind you and move on.
